In The Name Of Love

In the name of love {amour}, what better day than Valentine's Day to share a collection of images that represent romance, sweet smelling roses, gentle pastel hues and the alluring beauty of French porcelain.

To indulge in feminine beauty and romance, we often read the gorgeous Ruffled Blog and loved their post containing this gorgeous image of the wire Eiffel Tower from a European Inspired Wedding.  Similarly we also enjoy reading The Sweetest Occasion Blog and fell head over heals in love with their Pretty Tea Party Bridal Shower post.  There is something about vintage porcelain teacups that make me swoon!

In the past week we have been delighted with the way some customers have shared with us how they are telling someone they love how special they are ...
From beautiful Limoge Porcelain Heart Trinket Boxes holding a very special surprise inside for the 'Bride to Be', to beautiful French Soaps scented with crushed rose petals sent to daughter's studying abroad, and sweet French Country Blackboard Hearts tied onto lunch parcels for children to enjoy.  One lucky girl is being served a romantic dinner for two on the stunning French House dinner set she has been lusting over for some time.
How ever you are telling someone you love them, we hope you have a beautiful day filled with love and beauty.
Happy Valentine's Day ~ Bonne Saint Valentin

Paris to Provence - Part 2

Melbourne French Festival

Whilst enjoying the day, we couldn't help but admire the beautiful gardens at Como House.  It is easy to see why the gardens are referred to as one of Melbourne's finest.

One of the highlights for me, was meeting some of the team from Vue de Monde.  We absolutely love Shannon Bennett's philosophy on cooking and what it means to family and the daily ritual of sharing a meal together.  We especially love his book Shannon Bennett's Paris, it was great to see him on hand to sign copies from this delightful book.

As the day drew to a close, we just had to make another quick trip back to visit celebrity chef Pierrick Boyer's Le Petit Gâteau for more absolutely mouth watering macarons!

Paris to Provence - Part 1

Melbourne French Festival

We are absolutely delighted to announce Malmaison's involvement in this year's Melbourne French Festival {Paris to Provence} being held in Melbourne Friday, 25th November - Sunday, 27th November!

In 2010, rather than exhibit at this wonderful event, we took the opportunity to enjoy some family time together surrounded by what we love ... everything French!  Instead of travelling the 16,000km to France (although we would have loved to), we were able to travel to the beautiful leafy Melbourne suburb of South Yarra, and attend this great event at the beautiful historic 'Como House & Garden'.

Our excitement built as we entered the event and our senses were immediately awakened.  Soaking up the vibrant atmosphere, we delighted in the playfulness of the roaming performers.

We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the variety of stalls, indulged the delicious aromas whilst deciding exactly which food to sample and enjoy, took some time out to play Petanque, enjoyed a glass of wine on the lawns whilst listening to the Melbourne French Choir.

The classic style of Andrew Wilson antique pieces were delightful!

Just loved this stall {Ma Petit Bow}
There was something for all of us, whilst I enjoyed meeting up with friends and rummaging through the eclectic French Brocante store of Gigi a la Maison, the children enjoyed brushing up on their French with some important colouring in time at the pop-up école.
